MEXICO: CCONNSE Answers to Comments for Draft PROY-NOM-221-SCFI-2017 (Part 1)

On July 25, 2018 the National Standardization Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Economy from Mexico (CCONNSE) published answers to comments regarding the Mexican standard PROY-NOM-221-SCFI-2017 draft from July 17, 2017, which spoke about specifications of mobile terminal equipment that can make use of the radioelectric spectrum or be connected to telecommunications networks Part 1.

This standard establishes all the requirements regarding the Identity Code of Equipment Manufacture (IMEI) and functionality of receiver of sound broadcasting in Frequency Modulated (FM), and also specifies the tests methods for these devices following the technical disposition IFT-011-2017 and the evaluation of conformity.

The document answers to comments submitted regarding modifications in the following items:

1. All products that already have complied with IFT-011-2017 Part 1 at the time of the entry into force of this regulation should be exempt from the scope to avoid unnecessary costs.

Answer: the Transitory third was added.

2. When complying with the DT IFT-011- 2017 Part 1, it would practically be fulfilling the project of NOM-221-SCFI-2017.

Anwer: It does not apply.

3. Add to the part of objective and field of application that it applies to all equipment that wishes to be imported, commercialized and/or distributed within the territory of the United Mexican States.

Answer: First paragraph of chapter 1 will be amended

4. Add in references the conformity assessment procedure, based on article 73 of the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardization.

Answer: It does not apply.
