MEXICO: Additional Extension for NOM Certificates at Customs

Back

On May 31st, the Secretary of Economy, published the Note 414.2019.1983 as a complement of the previous Note 312.2019.01.1363 (dated May 15, 2019, you can view our regulatory update here). The new note establishes an additional term: June 30, 2019 (extending the initial term of May 31, 2019).

They are considering the time it takes to evaluate the conformity of each of the NOMs, so that, the Secretary of Economy says it’s feasible to grant a deadline of 90 calendar days, so that, the equipment can be imported without demonstrating Customs compliance with the corresponding certification as long as the request to the certification body, testing and calibration laboratories or verification units have been entered before June 30, 2019.

Please note this is related to equipment to be certified as the first time (it is not for the issuance of existing certificates).
