MAURITIUS: ICTA’s Directive Facilitates Importation of WiFI/BT Devices

Effective as of December 1st, 2017, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) of Mauritius published Telecommunication Directive 2 of 2017 which facilitates the importation and sale of devices equipped only with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth. Licensed dealers are not required to obtain type approval for the Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth only equipment specified therein.

This directive replaces the repealed Telecommunication Directive 1 of 2010 and it also amends provision 3.12 of the Telecommunication Directive 1 of 2014.
