As of 1st October 2019, all applications for the importation of ICT equipment are to be made solely on an online web portal of the ICT Authority prior to customs clearance. This measure of the ICT Authority is in line with the provisions of the Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2019 promulgated on 25th July 2019. The regulations will come into force on 1st October 2019 (GN 164 of 2019).
The web portal is intended for licensed dealers importing ICT equipment as well as individuals/companies importing such equipment for their own use. A valid email address will be required to register on the portal. As of 1st October 2019, requests for clearance of ICT equipment not made via the portal will not be accepted.
