On March 14th, Sirim announced that pursuant to all GSM, LTE, and 5G CBE that is to be imported, distributed, and/or used in Malaysia shall be certified in accordance with the technical codes T018:2021 and T019:2021. Thus, all new applications which fulfill the Technical Code and Certification Requirements for Compliance Approval (Type Approval) on Communication, Multimedia and Hybrid Equipment, eTAC/DOC/01-1.1 (“Certification Requirements”) will be granted full approval and are allowed for a maximum validity period of five (5) years.
Renewal applications for existing approval of GSM, LTE, and 5G Booster Equipment are no longer allowed. These existing applications will expire effective immediately. A new application (Normal Application) is required, and it shall meet the new technical code requirements for Cellular Booster Equipment.
