New Self Labelling requirements for Malaysia
SIRIM will stop issuance of Physical Label as normal practice and fully implement SLP on June 1st, 2015.

Placement of SLP Certification Mark:
Surface Labelling:
Surface Labelling should be directly applied to each product. If the physical characteristics of the products do not allow to put it on the product, it must be applied to the Smallest packaging unit OR the documentation (warranty, operating instructions, or guarantee certificates). (To be declared during product registration in e-Comm.)
If the certification mark has to be applied to the packaging, it must be clearly visible and occupy an area that has greater than 1% of the external surface.
Only original artwork shall be used, and not altered in any way other than to resize the artwork proportionately.
Unacceptable uses of the Certification Mark include, but are not limited to, adding/deleting wording or artwork, reducing the artwork to an illegible size, or distortion.
Surface Labelling:
- Engraved or embossed or printed or any method of marking
- Shall be legible, durable and readily visible
- If printed or using adhesive sticker, the ink shall be permanent / indelible i.e. cannot be smeared or rubbed off.e-Labelling:
- Incorporated with built-in display
- Supported by firmware or operating system (OS) which can be displayed, stored and retrievedfrom the product
- It should not be possible to erase it.
- The method to retrieve the certification mark shall be published in the documentation that accompanies the product.
