MCMC has announced the requirements for Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) on January 14th, 2021. Following their announcement on 3G Network on Nov 6, 2020, this has been a new update.
Some of the main updates include:
– To demonstrate compliance for VoLTE, the 4G capable devices shall be tested according to IR.92 or TS 34.229-1 or equivalent standards by an accredited laboratory. The test report shall be registered and uploaded into eComM for certification.
– The VoLTE test report for interim approvals shall be submitted to SIRIM starting 15 February 2021 until 30 June 2021. After 30 June 2021, interim approvals without VoLTE test report submission shall not be granted full approval.
After 30 June 2021, all new applications shall be submitted with VoLTE test report and VoLTE declaration is no longer required.
Nonetheless, should the new application is submitted between 15 February to 30 June 2021 and already possess a valid VoLTE test report, the applicant may submit the test report without the VoLTE declaration.
