Kazakhstan: Issues Updated Frequency Allocations Impacting Radio Equipment

On August 13, 2024, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued Order No. 487/HҚ, amending the Table of distribution of frequency bands between radio services. 

This order, registered with the Ministry of Justice on August 15, 2024, revises frequency allocations across various bands, including those commonly used by short-range devices, automotive equipment, data networking equipment, telecom/terminal equipment, multimedia equipment, infrastructure equipment, consumer electronics, and broadcasting equipment.

The order references the “Radio Regulations (Area 1),” suggesting adherence to international standards, although specific versions or details are not provided. 

Key revisions impact the 170-2,520 MHz, 800-5,250 MHz, 5,250-6,700 MHz, and 10-10.7 GHz bands. The updated allocations will enter into force ten calendar days after the order’s official publication.
