JAPAN: MIC Announces Regulation Revision for Radio Equipment

On April 23, 2018, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication (MIC) of Japan released an outline with a proposed amendment to arrange the technical standards of Wireless LAN Systems in Japan in order to meet the demands of the increasing mobile communications traffic. The arrangement will consist on allowing the 5.2GHz band for outdoor use with an output power of 1W EIRP.

The proposed date of entry into force is June or July of 2018.
