The Ministry of Communications is publishing the 5th Generation Frequencies tender. The publication of the tender constitutes a major milestone for leading the State of Israel to the technological leading edge together with the leading countries in the world.
The Main Principles of the Tender
- The frequencies offered in the tender will enable response to the increasing demand for broadband communications by expanding the capacity.
- For the first time, the frequency tender will be accompanied by an incentive system that includes grants and a reduction of around NIS 500 million in fees.
- The tender payments will be postponed to 2022 in order to enable the operators to divert their financial resources in order to invest in upgrading the networks.
- In the tender, the owners of the existing networks will be able to compete by submitting joint proposals, in a manner that will lead to the efficient allocation of frequencies for the benefit of the public.
- In addition, the tender will include an open part for new actors of 100 MHz for 5th generation frequencies that will generate technological competition in the 5th Generation infrastructure and services.
