ISED published RSS-210 — Licensed-Exempt Radio Apparatus

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada released the Radio Standards Specification RSS-210, issue 11, Licensed-Exempt Radio Apparatus: Category I Equipment replaces RSS-210, issue 10, dated December 2019.

This standard presents the certification requirements for several types of licensed-exempt radio devices, including new frequency bands and applications such as Wireless microphones, sensors, wideband devices, vehicle identification devices, and field disturbance sensors devices operating in the 57-71 GHz band.

This publication date marks the beginning of its enforcement, with a transition period of six months (until December 25th, 2024)during which compliance with either Issue 10 or Issue 11 is accepted. After the transition period, only applications for certification under Issue 11 will be accepted.
