INDIA: TEC Releases Draft Proposal on Procedure for Certification of Telecommunication Equipment

On May 24, 2017, The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India released a notice regarding the procedure for certification of telecommunication equipment. The purpose of this notice is to propose and review an implementation for mandatory testing and certification of telecom equipment prior to sale, import, or use in the country of India. TEC invites all stakeholders for comments regarding this draft proposal and a meeting is set to take place once all comments have been submitted. Deadline to comment was on June 1, 2017.

The 20-page proposal goes over the scope of certification, certification requirements and processes, simplified and general certification schemes, application processes, equipment labelling, renewals, and more.
