INDIA: TEC Expands Scope of Products Requiring TEC Approval this October

Back

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India under India’s Department of Telecommunication (DoT) released a full list of products that will now be requiring TEC approval. In the past, TEC had a very small category scope, which has now been expanded in the following categories: future network, fixed access, IoT/M2M/SN/SD, information technology, mobile, radio, switches, and transmission. TEC initially was scheduled to publish essential test requirements and approval submission processes details by April 1, 2018, but as of today, nothing has been released. Additionally, TEC will be introducing a new TEC approval mark. These approvals are set to become mandatory by October 1, 2018, and there will be a validity of 5 years.
