On March 8th, WPC wing issued this important notice in which it was decided that the Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) of foreign manufacturers may be allowed to obtain import licenses for the wireless equipment to be tested/ certified under MTCTE Scheme. These are some highlights from the notice (for further understanding review the complete notice):
AIRs of foreign manufacturers may be allowed to obtain import licenses for the wireless equipment to be tested/ certified under MTCTE Scheme limited to a maximum of 5 no. for each particular make/ model, based on the Dealer’s Possession License (DPL) held by them.
Post testing & certification, the imported products may be re-exported, or disposed of as per the specified procedure. Entry in this regard must be made by such DPL holders in the prescribed register viz. Form-Ill
Along with the application on the online facility on Saralsanchar, the AIR of foreign manufacturer shall submit a copy of the DPL held by them and an undertaking to the effect that the devices being imported are solely for the purpose of testing under MTCTE Scheme and will not be sold in the Indian market.
