BIS, India’s national standards body, signed this past week a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IEEE-SA, a worldwide recognized standards-setting body. This agrement allows BIS to use all the IEEE-SA standards in India’s market, modifying and adapting them to the natural, regulatory and technical environment of India. The decision was adopted because stakeholders asked BIS to introduce new standards of other international standards-development organization (SDO), besides ISO and IEC.
