India: BIS Modified Final Guidelines for Parallel Testing for Products

The Bureau of Indian Standards published the modification for Parallel Testing for Products. This guideline will enable parallel testing of electronic products covered under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) of BIS. These guidelines are voluntary and the manufacturers will still have an option for applying sequentially to BIS for registration as per the existing procedure. 

All the components that require Registration under CRS can be sent for testing in parallel at any of the BIS labs /BIS-recognized labs. The manufacturer will have the responsibility to register and take responsibility the all risks in this procedure.
 

This circular comes into force with immediate effect.
