IFT Preliminary Draft to Evaluate Procedure for Conformity Assessment in Telecommunications and Broadcasting

On June 2, 2017, The Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) announced a public consultation on the “propose draft procedure for Conformity Assessment in Telecommunications and Broadcasting” in efforts to bring transparency to its new regulations. During this public consultation, it will open its doors to comments, opinions and input in regards to the proposed draft.

The main objective of the proposed draft is to:

1. Establish the basis for simplifying the conformity assessment procedure and the approval of products for telecommunications and broadcasting.
2. Implementing a robust and efficient certification monitoring scheme
3. The certification procedure for telecommunication or broadcasting products and their compliance with the Technical Provisions on telecommunications and broadcasting.
4. Procedure for the Dispute Resolution of telecommunications or broadcasting infrastructure and its compliance with the Technical Provisions for telecommunications or broadcasting infrastructure.
