EUROPEAN UNION: Review Restriction of The Use of Hazardous Substances in Electronics

Back

The European Commission has published a Proposal for a directive act where they are open to comments on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electronics. Currently, EU rules limit the use of certain harmful substances in electrical and electronic equipment in order to protect human health and the environment and ensure the proper functioning of the internal market. The initiative will simplify and increase the efficiency of the current rules and improve their enforcement.

The aim of the consultation is to enable all interested stakeholders, including members of the public, to provide evidence and give views on the best options to improve the RoHS Directive.
