The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (ECC) is inviting public comments on the draft revision of Annexes 1 and 2 of ERC Recommendation 70-03, which relate to the use of short-range devices (SRDs) in the European Union.
Annexes 1 and 2 of ERC Recommendation 70-03 provide technical and operational requirements for SRDs, including spectrum usage, power limits, and duty cycles.
The revision of Annexes 1 and 2 is intended to update the requirements to reflect technological advances and to ensure that SRDs can continue to be used safely and efficiently. The draft revision also includes a number of new provisions related to the interference mitigation techniques and shared spectrum access in bands such as 433 MHz, 866 MHz and 917 MHz.
The public consultation is open to all interested parties, including CEPT administrations, industry stakeholders, and consumers. Comments should be submitted to the ECO contact person by November 3rd, 2023.
