EUROPEAN UNION: New Regulations to be Adopted Under Directive 2014/53/EU

In regards to Article 10(10) of Directive 2014/53/E, the Directive 1999/5/EC has been repealed and the market for radio equipment has been made available.

The following three points have been adopted under Directive 2014/53/E:

(1) The regulation specifies how the information provided should be presented AND explains that it shall only be applied to radio equipment that are “subject to restrictions on putting into service or to requirements for authorization of use in at least one Member State.”
(2) Radio equipment subject to restrictions on putting into service or authorization of use require label requirements.
(3) The regulation is effective on the twentieth day after it has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The regulation is valid for six months after its entry into force.
