On 27 April 2021 ENACOM published Resolution 551/2021 to introduce a new version of the Test Standard for Short Range Devices (SRD). The scope of this resolution is applicable among some other radio equipment to the following:
- Remote Controls
- Access controls (including door opening systems)
- Wireless audio devices, including microphones
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
The main points for this update are as follows:
- A new test standard for Short Range devices (SRD): ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V20.1 (which already came into force on 27 April 2021).
- The former ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V18.1 standard was replaced.
- New frequency bands have now been included as part of Shared frequency bands.
- From now on the following bands being able to be tested radiated as SRD devices:
- 915 – 928 MHz
- 2400 – 2483.5 MHz
- 5725 – 5850 MHz
- For the frequency bands 3.1 – 10.6 GHz and 22 – 26.65 GHz was added the Electric Field Strength Peak limit.
ENACOM has granted a period of 90 calendar days to allow new and ongoing applications to be still accepted having reports issued under ENACOM-Q2-60.14 V18.1 former standard. For renewals, no retesting would be required, provided that the original test report demonstrates compliance with the limits set out in this new regulation.
