ARGENTINA: ENACOM Publishes Two Resolutions to Allocate New Bands for Mobile Telephony

On February 17, 2017, the National Communications Entity (ENACOM) of Argentina announced the publications of resolution 1033 and 1034 in order to allocate 905 – 915 MHz, 950 – 960 MHz and 2500 – 2690 MHz bands in a primary basis for mobile services. ENACOM decided that systems or services currently operating within those bands shall migrate to other frequencies within ENACOM’s determined time frame. It is key to note that it should not exceed 2 years from the publication of the resolution that provides the migration. These bands until now, “could only be used to provide fixed wireless internet services.”
