EGYPT: NTRA Updates Type Approval Procedure Documents and List of Accredited Labs

The Egyptian National Telecom Regulatory Authority has recently updated its Type Approval Procedure to ease the application process and simplify the selection of the appropriate scheme. 

The Authority has defined three categories for countries and decreased the different applied Type Approval schemes to three schemes instead of four in the preceding version. This simplification may achieve more convenience to manufacturers interested to have their factories in Egypt since according to the updated chart, they can now follow either Light or Intermediate schemes depending on the manufacturer qualifications:



On the other hand, the authority has updated its list of Accredited Labs. The Intermediate Scheme labs have been noticeably increased compared to the preceding version and the new updated conditions opens chances to many labs to be included in the list.



Lastly, the Authority invites the manufacturers to apply for Type Approval prior to entering the country to avoid delays and risks of rejection at customs that could affect the import process and sales commitment.
