EGYPT: Membership of ITU Administrative Council Won by Egypt

Entirety reports on November 14, 2018, Egypt has won the membership of the Administrative Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) from 2019 till 2022 after being re-elected to the ITU Council membership during the elections held at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (ITUPP) held in Dubai, UAE, during 29 October till 16 November, with the participation of more than 2,500 decision makers. The Egyptian candidate Elsayed Azzouz has also won the membership of the ITU Radio Regulations Board (RRB) representing the African continent. Through this position, Egypt actively participates in reviewing the activities and operational plans of the ITU various sectors and Secretariat, and issues decisions on them in between the quadrennial Plenipotentiary Conferences. This is an addition to following up on the formation of the Council’s various working groups.
