The Ecuadorian Agency for Regulation and Control of the Telecommunications (ARCOTEL), announced through the resolution 03-02-ARCOTEL-2016 a modification of the National Frequency Plan in the 525-535 KHz, 894-960 MHz, 12.2-12.7 GHz, 57-64 GHz ranges and the 5.282 international note. The most relevant changes for compliance matters are:
- The elimination of one band and the addition of other new bands for broadband digital modulation systems, allowing the homologation of equipments using the 802.11ad technology in the 60 GHz band.
- The elimination of bands for the trunking systems.
The Resolution came into force on March 29, 2016, day of its publication in the Ecuadorian Official Register.
