The Entity released on October 7, 2015, the draft of a technical regulation which establishes the general requirements of security and energy efficiency that computers and input and output  peripherals should accomplish. This regulation would apply only to products with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V.

The notified Technical Regulation also applies to the motherboards or mainboards of computers in CKD form. All the commercialized computers and peripherals in Ecuador are under this regulation, either imported or national products.
