On May 9, 2016, the Ecuadorian Agency of Regulation and Control of the Telecommunications, published on the Official Register #749 the Resolution 05-03-ARCOTEL-2016 “Regulation for the provision of the telecommunication and broadcasting services by subscription”. Some of the services by subscription included in this regulation are: Advanced Mobile Services (SMA), Advanced Mobile trough Mobile Virtual Operator (OMU), telecommunications via satellite, audio and video by subscription, and internet access. In the regulation annex, ARCOTEL specifies all the technical requirements and the authorized bands for the use of each regulated service.
