Back

On Oct. 13, 2021, MIIT issued a formal regulation about bands 2400MHz, 5100MHz, and 5800MHz.

Compared to previous regulations, below you can find the new change:
1. IPv6 protocol: WLAN equipment with public network IP address allocation function shall support IPv6 protocol and enable IPv6 address allocation function by default.
2. The technical requirements for multiple antennas are added, and the calculation method of synthetic gain and shaping gain is added. See Annex 1.
3. Improve the useless emission limit, see Annex 1.
4. Add various interference avoidance technical requirements for radio transmitting equipment, such as “pre-launch search”, “monitoring and avoidance”, “equivalent occupancy rate”, etc., see Annex 2. Please note that it’s indoor use only for WIFI 5100 MHz. (Not including vehicle).

In addition to the below two types of equipment, radio equipment with 2400MHz/5100MHz/ 5800MHz bands will need to apply for SRRC.
1. Industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) equipment as non-radio equipment radiating radio waves
2. The equipment meets the requirements of class F and class G general micropower in Announcement No. 52 of 2019.

From Oct. 15th, 2023, the relevant radio equipment needs to correspond to the technical requirements listed in this notice. Before Oct. 15th, 2023, the radio equipment that meets the original regulations but does not meet the technical requirements listed in the notice can still apply for new SRRC approval or renewal according to the original provisions.
