CHINA: Provisional Regulations on Radio Management of Wireless Charging (Power Transmission) Equipment

Back

On May 30th, 2023, China published the “Provisional Regulations on Radio Management of Wireless Charging (Power Transmission) Equipment”. Below are the summarized key points:

  1. Definition: wireless charging device refers to a device that utilizes a magnetic coupling mechanism to achieve non-beam near-field power transmission technology.
  2. Scope:

Mobile and portable wireless charging devices(frequency:100 -148.5kHz、6765-6795kHz、13553-13567kHz/Rated transmission power: not exceed 80W)

Wireless charging equipment for electric vehicles (including motorcycles)(frequency:19 -21kHz/Rated transmission power:22kW~120kW;frequency:79 -90kHz/Rated transmission power:not exceed 22kW)

  1. The production or import of wireless charging equipment sold and used in China does not need to obtain SRRC approval. Still, it should comply with the technical indicators such as operating frequency and application scenarios set by the Regulations, as well as the product quality, electromagnetic radiation, electrical safety, and other laws, regulations, and national standards.
  2. Furthermore, manufacturers should indicate product information, technical requirements, usage requirements, and other contents in the product instructions (including electronic display instructions), and prominently mark or display the dedicated identification of wireless charging devices in electronic form.
  3. The regulation will be implemented from September 1, 2024.  For detailed requirements, please see attached regulation(Officially published in Chinese only).
