CHINA: Open Public Consultation Regarding Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Wireless Equipment Supporting IPv6 Protocol Capability

Authority issued a draft SRRC regulation related to supporting IPv6 protocol for WLAN devices on May 26, 2023, if you have any suggestions, please give feedback before June 26, 2023. 

Here are some key information we would like to share with you:

  1. WLAN equipment should support and enable the IPv6 address allocation function by default, and specify the IPv6 configuration instructions in the product manual. Whether the IPv6 address allocation function is enabled or not is determined by the user’s choice.
  2. Basic telecom operators should support and encourage users to access the Internet through IPv6 wireless LAN devices while existing IPv4 wireless LAN devices can still access the Internet normally.
  3. From October 15, 2023, the application for SRRC must be carried out in accordance with the technical requirements and test methods listed in this notice.
