On Aug 31st, MIIT has issued a regulation about format of SRRC certificate and CMIIT ID encoding rule. This new regulation will come into effect on Dec 1st, 2023.
Here are some notes:
- Please find the example for the new format of SRRC certificate as attachment. (There are both Chinese and English meanings.)
- Please find CMIIT ID encoding rule from attachment. The important change is the applicant can edit the ID following the new rule of coding while the application is submitted, after the application approved, the ID number is valid.
Here are brief summary as below:
① Abbreviation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China.
② Year code: 2 digits, for example, if you submit the application this year, it is written as 23.
③ Equipment code: 1 uppercase letter.
④ Territory code:, 2 digits, there is a table for your reference.
For example, Taiwan: 71, Hong Kong: 81, Macau: 82, Other overseas countries and regions: 99
⑤ Company code: 3 digits, which must contain 1 number. It will generate by the authority while the applicant first submits the application, then it won’t change anymore.
⑥ Customized code: 4 digits. First with the uppercase letter (letter I and O cannot be used), the following 3 digits with the number.
