SOUTH AFRICA: ICASA Fees and Charges for April 2021- March 2022 Service Licenses

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published the new fees for 2021 for all the license services including type approval. The new prices have a 3.3% increment based on the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) and will be effective from April 2021.
SOUTH AFRICA: NRCS Acceptance of SANS/IEC62368-1 Standard as Alternative for SANS/IEC60950 and SANS/IEC60065 Standards

NRCS while still working on the amendment on standard VC 8055 to adopt SANS/IEC62368-1, has approved the recognition of SANS/IEC 62368-1 as an equivalent standard to SANS/IEC 60065 and SANS/IEC 60950. This therefore means, effective 1st April 2021, the Electrotechnical Business Unit of the NRCS, accepts Test Reports that refer to SANS/IEC 62368-1.
