Canada: Public Consultation in Canada: RSS-123 Issue 5_Wireless Microphones and Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is seeking comments on the consultation of RSS-123, issue 5,  “Wireless Microphones and Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems”. This Radio Standards Specification (RSS) sets out the requirements for the certification of licensed wireless microphones and Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS).

The main changes are listed below:

1. Added requirements for operation of WMAS in frequency bands specified in Table 2 of the draft publication;

2. Added definition for terms used in this standard in Section 4 of the draft.

3. Updated the reference for ETSI EN 300 422-1 in section 3.5 of the draft;

4. Updated the unwanted emissions requirements for wireless microphones in Section 5.3 of the draft.

5. Made editorial changes and clarifications, as appropriate.

Comments are due no later than June  20, 2024, by one of the following methods:

1) Online, using the General Inquiry form (in the form, select the Directorate of Regulatory Standards radio button and specify “RSS-123” in the General Inquiry field)
