CANADA: New Requirements For Wireless Device Testing Laboratories

Back

The Authority Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada (ISED) published new requirements for laboratories testing wireless devices. The rules became effective from March 15, 2019.

Starting from this date, all testing laboratories of wireless devices must be recognized by ISED in order to meet Canadian requirements for wireless products.

This means that ISED is no longer accepting non-accredited test sites for registration. Manufacturers of wireless devices should pay attention to the accreditation area of the testing laboratories if they don’t want to to be denied for registration by the NCB of Canada within a conformity assessment procedure.
