CANADA: ISED Publishes Test Methods for Nerve Stimulation Exposure Limits

Back

During September 2016, the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) agency released for comments, the document of the “supplementary procedure for assessing compliance with RSS-102 nerve stimulation exposure limits”. Equipment that emits energy in the 3 KHz – 10 MHz frequency range will be tested with the procedures that the SPR-002 describes. This procedure covers instantaneous requirements for RF field strengths based on the effects of internal electric fields, but doesn’t cover requirements based on in situ (internal) electric fields or SAR. Interested parties could sent comments regarding this procedure until the deadline date of November 1, 2016.
