On June 2018, The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) released a consultation to revise the 3500 MHz Band in order to accommodate for flexibility usage; also a preliminary Consultation on changes to the 3800 MHz Band will be revised.
This consultation looks to review the frequency band 3450–3650 MHz to accommodate a flexible use for fixed and mobile services and also looks for preliminary comments on the potential changes to the 3400–3450 MHz band and the 3650–4200 MHz band (referred to as the 3800 MHz band).
Among the main proposals to be commented, there are:
1) Adding a primary mobile allocation to the 3450–3475 MHz bands.
2) Removing the radiolocation allocation in the 3450–3500 MHz band
3) Making the corresponding changes to the Canadian Table of Frequency Allocations.
The Department will accept comments for this consultation until August 10, 2018.
