CANADA: General Requirement Changes for Compliance of Radio Apparatus Document Published

On December 21, 2017, Industry Radio Standard Specifications (RSSs) of Canada published a draft with a list of changes describing the general requirements for the Compliance of Radio Apparatus, this document will come into force upon its publication on the Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada website.

Among the main changes we can find:

-Add requirement that certified devices have to be listed in the Radio equipment List (REL) before it can be leased, offered for sale, or sold.
-Add reference to document REC-LAB for requirements for test site facilities.
-Modify the transmit antenna section to apply to both licensed and licensed-exempt equipment.
-Add clarification on conditions for passive RFID tags to be exempted from any ISED certification, testing and labelling requirements.
