CANADA: Certification Requirements for License – Exempt RLAN Devices Operating in 5925-7125 MHz Frequency Band and Replacing RSS-248

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is seeking comments on the following consultation: RSS-248, issue 2, “Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) Devices in the 5925-7125 MHz band” which sets out the certification requirements for license-exempt standard-power RLAN devices operating in the frequency band 5 925-6 875 MHz.

Main changes below: 

Are added: new classes of RLAN devices: standard-power access points, fixed client devices, and standard client devices operating in the 5925-6875 MHz frequency band, sections covering power limits for new RLAN device classes, operational requirements for new RLAN device classes, geolocation requirements for standard-power access points and fixed client devices, software security requirements section.

Are removed: section regarding frequency stability since it is covered in RSS-Gen.

Are made: editorial changes and clarifications, as appropriate.
