BRAZIL: Public Consult for Modifications on The Rules for Telecommunications Products Certification and Homologation

Anatel opened on February 23rd the Public consult No.2, with the  proposal for modifications on the Rules for Telecommunications Products Certification and Homologation (Resolution 242). The comments will be received until March 5th.

The proposed changes are regarding the item V, subitems A and B of the Annex III. The most substantial modification is the number of characters of the homologation number which, in the present, is conformed by 4 digits for the product homologation, 2 digits for the year of the homologation and 4 digits for the manufacturer. The proposed form is to have 5 digits for the product homologation, 2 digits for the year of the homologation and 5 digits for the manufacturer. This was motivated by the increase of the homologated products and the available numbers to identify them.
