ANATEL released the office letter 464/2023 to clarify and update the requirements for IPv6 presented in Act 7971 from June 22nd, 2023.
The agency clarified that Act 7971 will come into force on January 8th, 2024, 185 days after its publication, and shall suppress the previous IPv6 requirements listed in the technical requirements for telecom products – category 1 list.
However, as the testing procedures from Act 7971 are equivalent to the previous requirements to evaluate the IPv6 protocol in telecom products, the agency, to avoid further impacts, is recognizing all the national laboratories that have the IPv6 from the previous requirements under their scope of work to be allowed to test following the new guidelines for a one year term, until they update their formal accreditation.
