In order to offer wider and better coverage of the telecommunication services in the Brazilian territory, the Brazilian telecommunications agency (ANATEL), will auction different portions of the 1800 MHz,1900 MHz and 2500 MHz bands. The tender was approved after a public consultation, and the final decision was published on October 22, 2015. The possible uses for the auctioned portions will include mobile telephony, multimedia communications and private limited service.
