Back

The Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL), published on February 23, the resolution # 661 of 2016. This resolution establishes the radio frequency ranges allocation for  the Limited Mobile Aeronautic Service (SLMA), for use in aeronautic radio navigation systems. The allocated bands are divided in two groups.

The first group has a primary status, which means that the frequencies are protected of interference. The ranges in this group are: 190 KHz – 405 KHz; 510 KHz – 525KHz; 1.705 KHz – 1.800 KHz; 74,8MHz – 75,2 MHz; 108 MHz – 117,975 MHz; 328,6 MHz 335,4 MHz; 960 MHz – 1215 MHz; 1.559 MHz – 1.610 MHz; 2.700 MHz – 2.900 MHz; 5.000 MHz – 5.091 MHz; 5.350 MHz – 5.460 MHz; 8.750 MHz – 8.850 MHz; 9.000 MHz – 9.200 MHz; 9.300 MHz – 9.500 MHz; 13,25 GHz – 13,4 GHz; 15,4 GHz – 15,7 GHz. The second group has a secondary status, it means that protection against interference is not mandatory. The ranges in this group are: 415 KHz – 490 KHz; 1.625 KHz – 1.705 KHz; 4.200 MHz – 4.400 MHz. All the decisions in the resolution follow the recommendations of the Public Consultation # 42 of December 1, 2014. The resolution came into force on February 23, 2016.
