BRAZIL: ANATEL Publish Act 10002 for Station Access Terminal (ETA) and Act 10003 for Mobile Phone with Updated Test Requirements

Brazilian telecom agency ANATEL issued Act 10002 and Act 10003 from November 16th, 2021, which brings updates regarding the 4G and 5G tests for Station Access Terminal (ETA) and Mobile Phone from the previous Act 3151 and Act 3152 from June 12th, 2020, respectively. Both acts now bring the FR2 Bands (mmWave, above 24Ghz) for NR (New Radio) Standalone and Non-Standalone Inter-Band and bring for NB-IOT CAT the NB2 (3GPP Release 14).

Another change is for Mobile Phone that has hardware capable to receive FM signals (radio broadcast service) must have this ability accomplished by declaration on conformity evaluation process as a condition to obtain the homologation.

Type Approval impacted? Yes. Bands FR2 included for NR (New Radio) Standalone and Non-Standalone Inter-Band. At first sight only the auctioned bands. Included NB2 for LTE NB-IoT. Also, Act 10003 requires that the Mobile Phone that have the hardware to receive FM signals must have this ability attested by a declaration shown during the conformity evaluation process.
