ANATEL, The Brazilian telecommunications regulator, opened a public consultation on August 18th 2015, inviting all the interested parties to send comments and contributions about the bidding proposal, in order to authorize the use of the radio frequencies in the 1.8GHz, 1.9 GHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz bands. The public consultation will be open until September 2nd 2015. The objective is to extend the coverage of the telecommunications services in Brazil with the 1.8 GHZ band destined to mobile telephony; and the 1.9GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands destined to long fixed band and limited private services.
