BRAZIL: ANATEL Issues Public Consultation to Revise The Regulation on Conditions of Use of the 3.5 GHz Radio Frequency Band

On November 6, 2018, ANATEL of Brazil opened a public consultation regarding the conditions of use of the 3.5 GHz bands.

The main objective is to submit to comments and suggestions from the general public, the Regulatory Impact Analysis Report concerning the draft revision of the regulations associated with the 3,400 MHz to 3,600 MHz ; and the proposal to assign to the Private Limited Service – SLP, on a primary basis, without exclusivity, the sub-band of radio frequencies from 3,400 MHz to 3,600 MHz, with the destination of the said band being retained by the Multimedia Communication Service (SCM) the Fixed Switched Telephone Service (STFC) and the Personal Mobile Service (SMP), as well as the proposed revision of the Regulation on Conditions of Use of the 3.5 GHz Radio Frequency Band.

The Authority expects to obtain feedback from the interested parties until December 9, 2018.
