BRAZIL: ANATEL IPv6 Regulations are Now Mandatory in Brazil

As Entirety has previously informed, the Brazilian telecommunications regulator ANATEL, has introduced the IPv6 regulation, for evaluation and testing of the telecommunication devices with mobile network interface included in the “list of technical requirements for telecommunications products – Category I”. This new rule has different requirements depending on the technologies of the equipment. Devices implementing: 2G technologies do not require IPv6 testing; 3G technology require IPv6 tests only; 3G/4G technologies require RFC and 3GPP tests; and 4G technology require RFC and some 3GPP tests. The 3GPP tests are mandatory as of January 1, 2016, and the RFC tests will be mandatory starting August 1, 2016.
