BRAZIL: ANATEL Approves New Regulation for Radio Frequency Devices

Back

On Thursday, June 22, 2017 the board of directors of ANATEL approved a new regulation on Radiocommunication Devices. These changes were discussed back in 2015 through a public consultation that received more than 500 comments. As of today, ANATEL has not made available the answers on the public consultation.

With the approved regulation, ANATEL meets the goal of allowing the entry of new technologies in the country, covering new systems such as wireless microphones, radars, agricultural equipment, door opening systems, remote controls for wagons and toll identification systems.

ANATEL committed to release the certification technical requirements to the OCD’s, which will need to evaluate their technical feasibility. There are still some internal steps and coordination between ANATEL and OCD’s until the final regulation is published.
