Bolivia: ATT Published a New Type Approval Guidelines

Back

The Telecommunications and Transportation Authority of Bolivia (ATT) has released a new regulatory administrative resolution, ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 539/2024, which governs the registration and homologation of telecommunications and ICT equipment. This resolution, issued on November 6, 2024 and recently published in early December, replaces the previous regulation, ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 443/2023, which had been in effect since September 28, 2023.

A significant change introduced in the new resolution is the extension of the validity period for homologation certificates from five years to ten years.

There is no retroactive extension of validity. The certificates issued under the old 5-year rule will continue to be valid until their original expiration date. Then, the new certificates issued after the implementation of Resolution 539/2024 will benefit from the extended 10-year validity period.

The new resolution has come into immediate effect, requiring that ongoing equipment homologation requests be adapted to comply with the updated provisions.
