BAHAMAS: URCA Publishes Preliminary Determination to Change Type Approval Guidelines of License-exempt Radio Spectrum Devices

On July 5th, 2019 the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) has published a Preliminary Determination on Proposed Revisions to Final Determinations Class Licenses, Exemptions, and Types of Fees (ECS 24/2009) and Guidelines for the Type Approval Certificate of Licence‐Exempt Radio Spectrum Devices (ECS 02/2013). This document, which relates to the Type Approval of Low Power devices, is listed as ECS 05/2019. The objective is to remove the restriction of CFR Part 15 standards only devices and extend the type approval to other standards different from FCC/USA.
