AUSTRALIA: ACMA Proposes Actualization for the Australian Radio-frequency Plan

During September of 2016, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) announced through their website a proposal to update the Australian Radio-frequency Plan. This update is being proposed in order to reflect the agreed changes in the World Radio-communication Conference 2015. According to ACMA, principal changes includes:

– Updates reflecting domestic changes that have occurred over the past four years.
– Correction of a small number of minor typographical errors.
– Adding two new Australian footnotes to explicitly support the space vehicle tracking treaty between the Australian and United States governments.
– The insertion of a provision to provide increased flexibility to allow the operation of not specified in the plan in certain circumstances.

The final date to send comments to the authority is October 24, 2016.
